April 2003

We Apologize
Sidney Siller, Department Adjutant

Due to several breakdowns and assorted malfunctions with our mailing equipment we were unable to timely print and distribute our March newsletter. So accordingly we apologize to one and all.

There are several important upcoming events that we wish to notify you about.

Firstly, your efforts in making the 82nd Anniversary a social and financial success is urgently requested. We need every chapter's support in urging our members to attend DAV's greatest event of the year.

In Connection with the 82nd "Bash" (cocktails, Hors D'overes, dinner, dancing and comraderie) we are introducing a journal. So please help make this event a financial success by obtaining ads and boosters. Let's work together on this event as we have on all of the other projects.

LEADERSHIP SEMINARS

Our first leadership seminar held at our recent SEC Meeting on March 15th, 2003, at Friar Tuck Inn was successful beyond our wildest dreams. Fifty of our members preregistered their interest in attending. Being optimistic we set the room for Sixty people. Some how the word got around and we had standing room only with eighty in the room. Another Thirty five were turned away for lack of space.

We are pleased to tell you that this successful program will be continued. We will have another session at our 82nd Annual Convention. A bulletin will be issued prior to the Department Convention announcing the date and time of the seminar at the Friar Tuck Inn. Please make your registration this time.

We wish to extend our thanks to Bill Novak, P.D.C. for his brilliant work in making the Leadership Seminar a pioneering success.
