Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ) was reelected as Chairman of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee for the 108th Congress. Mr. Smith as served on the Committee for 22 years and is now serving his second term as Chairman. The Committee reviews veterans' benefits, examines current laws, and reports bills concerning veterans' programs, such as health care, disability compensation, and veterans' cemeteries.
