QUEENS CLINIC OPENS
Grand Opening ceremonies of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
Clinic at 41-03 Queens Blvd. (41st St., Queens Blvd.), New York City,
were held on October30th. Bronx VA Medical Center Director, Maryann
Musumeci, VA NY/NJ Veterans Healthcare Network Director, James J.
Farsetta, U.S. Congressman Joseph Crowley, Department Commander Thomas
F. Mazza, P.C.C. of Chapter 92 Robert Conti and other invited
dignitaries participated in the ribbon- cutting along with veterans
leaders of the Northern Queens community.
Ms. Maryann Musumeci, Director of the Bronx VA Medical Center, the
clinic's parent facility stated, "We are dedicated to providing
state-of-the-art preventive medicine services to the veterans in this
community. In addition to a full range of primary care services,
veterans will also be able to receive flu and pneumonia vaccines as well
as annual cancer screenings."
Mr. James J. Farsetta, VA New York/New Jersey Veterans Healthcare
Network Director, added, This VA Network is committed to improving care
to our area veterans by bringing that care closer to their homes. With
the opening of the VA Sunnyside Clinic, we have established over 25 new
satellite locations in Southern New York and New Jersey to make access
to VA healthcare easier and more convenient for our veterans."
